In December 2016, Lincoln Financial Group president and CEO Dennis Glass wanted to take a leadership position on a then-proposed fiduciary rule developed by the Department of Labor. If implemented as is, it was Lincoln Financial’s view that it would have unintended consequences that adversely affected someone’s ability to save for retirement.
